Joel Fuller
Joel Fuller is a distinguished American violinist known for his versatile artistry and rich, expressive tone. He is a former member of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) in Washington, D.C., having originally joined the orchestra in 2009 under the baton of then-Music Director Christoph Eschenbach.
Before his tenure with the NSO, Fuller held the position of Associate Principal Second Violin in the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, where he performed for four years in numerous productions with Washington National Opera and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet. His orchestral experience also includes three seasons as Assistant Concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic from 2003-2005.
Fuller is equally passionate about chamber music. He is a founding member of the Last Stand Quartet, a highly regarded string quartet composed of fellow NSO musicians, dedicated to performing both classical and contemporary repertoire. He is also a regular guest artist at the Garth Newel Music Center in Warm Springs, VA and with the 21st Century Consort in Washington, DC.
Fuller’s musical journey began in Wisconsin, where he developed his foundational training at the Aber Suzuki Center at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, studying with Vartan Manoogian, and later received a Master of Music from the University of Michigan, where he studied under renowned pedagogue Paul Kantor.
