Now accepting submissions for the 2026 season
Alumni of Garth Newel’s Emerging Artist Summer Fellowship can now apply to present a performance project for the opening month of our 2026 Summer Season.
Presenting one’s own uniquely crafted concert is a huge part of a musician’s professional development. The Emerging Artist Alumni Series is designed to provide the opportunity for past fellows to present and execute a clear and interesting concept for a fully-fledged, polished concert. As performers as well as artistic directors, the Garth Newel Piano Quartet feels strongly that being able to think about what will engage the larger public, as well as developing the skill to articulate and defend one’s own artistic ideas, is necessary to being a performing artist today.
We are seeking program ideas of 30-60 minutes in length, and all interested alumni of our Emerging Artist Fellowship Program are encouraged to apply. Fellows may apply individually or as a chamber ensemble; additional collaborators need not be Garth Newel alumni.
The performance date in Herter Hall at Garth Newel Music Center will be June 20th of 2026. The selected alumni performer/s will receive a travel stipend plus lodging and meals at Garth Newel – and of course Garth Newel will provide print and online marketing for the performance.
You will need the following information:
- Repertoire list. (For works that are not widely known, please include a brief description.)
- Instrumentation
- Personnel list. Add a brief description of each musician.
- Technical requirements beyond a tuned piano, lights, chairs, stands
- Estimate of travel costs
audio or video material of the performers.
