Garth Newel Piano Quartet received the 2017 CMA Classical Commissioning Grant to commission composer David Biedenbender to write them a new piano quartet. He joins us to talk about his compositional philosophy, the work Resonance Modes that he wrote for pianist Jeannette Fang, and his creative process.
