Several dozen Garth Newel patrons were treated to an exceptional event during last year’s tour of Venice and the Veneto region.
Now Garth Newel Music Center and Art and Architecture Tours are inviting you to share in this evening of exquisite music in what is arguably the grandest venue in its 46-year history.
Palazzo Labia is noted not only as one of the last grand baroque palazzi built in Venice in the late 17th and early 18th c. Its famous ballroom, where the Garth Newel Piano Quartet performed as part of Venice’s Festival Galuppi, holds the frescoed interior, executed in 1745-46, by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, one of Venice’s most celebrated painters.
Within and under Tiepolo’s fresco series of Antony and Cleopatra, depicted in 18th c. Venetian attire, the piano quartet thrilled its audience of Garth Newel patrons and Italian festival subscribers.
