Allegheny Mountain String Orchestra
Founded in 2011, the Allegheny Mountain String Orchestra
is the first youth orchestra in the region. The AMSO was developed to provide students of the Allegheny Mountain String Project an opportunity to play together and learn the skills of ensemble playing, though any string student taking private lessons is encouraged to apply. Directed by Gretta Sandberg of Highland County, the AMSO rehearses monthly at the Garth Newel Music Center as a whole, and breaks into smaller community group rehearsals each month as well.
